Barbershop on Santa Monica

Barbershop on Santa Monica

We went to see Grizzly Man, directed by Werner Herzog - a German chap.
The star(?) of the movie is Timothy Treadwell AKA Mr I-luv-Teddy-Bears, a man who actually lived out in the Alaskan wilderness in bear territory. He recorded videos of himself out there just a few inches away from mammoth grizzly bears, and cute arctic foxes in the midst of the pristine Alaskan wildlife refuge.

Timothy, the self-styled Bear Saver was eventually eaten by a bear along with his girlfriend. You want to feel sad for him, and I do, but you also want to mock him and deride him, which I did.

But I also felt sympathetic watching shrug off the nausea of city life, and revel in the simple life of bears. He understood the dangers of living out there, just inches away from these bears, but he idolized them to the point of waxing poetic about their poop. I couldnt stand watching the scenes with 'Jewel' (one of his former girlfriends) - what a faker.

On the way back to UCLA, we saw a cute barbershop which had posters plastered on the wall from top to bottom. I'll remember that shop next time I need a haircut.
