Topsy-turvy & going nowhere
This snippet of construction turned outside in with lines and rails cutting across each other, and going nowehere.... represents my frustration with MTA, the annoying Bus Riders Union, and the rich residents of the Westside.
The BRU has asserted that rail is racist which is quite possible the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The Westside community's NIMBYISM held up the Red Line extension for over a decade. But a recent article in the LA Times reports that they have changed their minds due to excruciatingly painful traffic...gasp!
So, maybe, just maybe, instead of the Wilshire Red Line abruptly kicking you off at Western, leaving you stranded, waiting for a god-damn bus that never shows up, it can take you all the way to the Sea, hell even to UCLA would be great.
The worst part is waiting for a so-called Rapid bus - waiting because the buses have to battle against the traffic, and then seeing 3 buses arrive at your stop in succession, when all you wanted was 1 measly bus 35 minutes ago! Putting more buses on an already crowded street is pointless!
The Subway-to-the-Sea, and a proper rail route to LAX are both sorely needed.
