The cleaning of the Kaabah
This set of old film photos was given to me by relatives. They were taken in the holy city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia where pilgrims come from all over the world to pray.
The Kaabah is the centerpiece in the courtyard and is normally covered in a black veil.
The name Kaabah is from the Arabic word "muka'ab" meaning "cube".
The courtyard is being cleaned before the next pilgrimage.
Photo date: not known.
